Whilst I am awaiting a stack load of reference books on the 262 and the 262 itself ive gotten itchy fingers. My thoughts have turned to the P47.
Now right off the bat (a flat faced piece of fine British Willow craftsmanship not the unsophisticated lathe whittled "stick" you 'mercans swing about) Im will say that if ANYONE else wants a bash at the P47 please go right ahead and stake your claim.
If there are no takers then here are my proposals:
As much as the 392nd dosent show off too much (solid red cowl and a multicoloured tail tip) I like this. Avoiding the obvious checkerboards will give us some identity. Being NMF the skins should also be east base. So not objection to the 392nd.
When it comes to markings there are two obvious variations - post Aug 44 stripes on the underside and a later unstriped version. Full stripes could be added later if MP scenarios drift.
Noseart wise Im not fussy about having historically accurate representations. Trying such would seriously limit the aircraft I could produce tac number wise due to references. I could perhaps incorporate one or 2 historic ones though. What im proposing is that those with an interest suggest and submit artwork ideas. This could be from any decent source. An existing 4K skin, a war-thunder skin, a colour profile with the artwork shown separately. I can usually get a working trasparency out of most things like that. What I cant do is create original artwork. I work with a mouse on my lap. No stylus, no surface....not even a desk.. It would take too long for me to do. The only other limit is taste and style. The 392nd seem to keep their art on the cowl so that's where ill be wanting to keep ours if I do the skins.
Ill await your replies
