I just purchased this sim and for those of you that are interested, it has a high learning curve and is going to take some training to understand even the basics of submarine operations. If you can grasp the concepts within the game you are going to close the gap between what you've seen as depicted by videos, movies and books and real ops on a U Boat.
U-Boat games of the past are like IL-2 startups for aircraft and this sim is more of a full clickable for DCS. From what I can see, there are no shortcuts. But you can crew your sub with real humans and delegate basic responsibilities to other members of your crew.
The other sim, UBoat, is going to be a single player experience, with what appears to be, more eye candy and relaxed playability.
SCG has members that are currently playing this sim and we are going to try and group together as more members come online. I thought it would be fun to include this within Simulated Combat Group as it closes the circle in WWII combat theaters by giving us land, sea, and air operations.
